Hey people of tumblr- Yesterday some girls in my neighborhood found a stray dog running around McCarren Park, and they couldn’t keep her so they ended up giving her to me.  I was walking by and the dog happily ran up to me, and I’m a huge dog fan- and so I ended up with this small terrior in my house.  The other girls gave her a bath, so she’s clean although her fur is knotted/dreaded in some places.  The dog seems pretty healthy, and I feel like she’s had owners before, because she seems to be relatively housebroken, although I walked her several times yesterday.  She doesn’t reject the leash, but she does need some training in terms of “sit, stay, heel, etc.”  She is super sweet and friendly, and likes to cuddle on the couch.  She needs someone patient who is willing to train her properly, and can afford to take her to the vet and get her fur cleaned up.  I would love to keep this bright, sweet girl, but I’m just not at a place where I can afford her long term.  I’m also curious to find out if anyone lost her and is looking for her.  I’m really trying to avoid taking her to animal control, because if she isn’t adopted within 72 hours they will likely euthanize her.  Can you please reblog this to help me find either her original owners, or someone in the New York area who would be willing to give her a good home?  I live in the East Williamsburg/Bushwick area.

I would just like to add that if you are considering a pet, please do not buy and do not go through a breeder. Give one of the overwhelming numbers of all types of homeless dogs and cats a home. They are in shelters, waiting.
